Independence!

May 19, 2012. A day that will go down in the annals of history (at least one that Estelle’s parents will not soon forget). For it was on this Saturday morning that those parents awoke at EIGHT O’CLOCK, not because a toddler was up calling for them, but on their own accord. I then went to see this miracle for myself (Estelle sleeping past 8), but much to my surprise she was already awake. She’d grabbed a book and was “reading” to herself – in lieu of waking us up! Let’s hope more of those weekend mornings are in the family’s future! Here’s some video footage of what I found when I snuck my head around the corner:

Our Little Helper

Dear Future Estelle,

You are 3 months away from turning 3, and you love to help around the house. Making beds, doing dishes, baking, folding clothes, you name it, you want to do it. By the time you are old enough to navigate the internet AND read this post, you probably won’t be nearly as enthusiastic about chores, but you will have the arm strength to scrub pots and push the vacuum! On that note, please get off the computer and load the dishwasher…that is assuming we have a dishwasher by the time you read this. Fingers crossed.

Kids and dads got together for some Sunday evening playtime and pizza. (Estelle’s not really that much taller – she’s jumping in the photo.)
